Biography
Daniel J. Stein has been dedicated to IBD since his mother was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease which drove him to join the research lab of Dr. David Binion at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). He attended Creighton University Medical School and subsequently Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Arizona Hospital where he served as a Chief Resident. He then completed his Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship at the MCW. He was also fortunate to spend an IBD externship at the University of Chicago with Dr. Rubin and Dr. Hanauer. As the current Medical Director of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program, he worked hard to develop the IBD Program into one that focuses on excellence in patient care. Patient communication is a focus of his practice which is described in his book, “IBD: A Point of Care Clinical Guide.†Additionally, he continued to conduct research in the form of clinical trials and patient centered clinical outcomes.
